My Leyte Video’s

I made six visits to the Philippines over a 7 year period, I took a compact video camera and documented as much of my trip that I could and still just enjoy being in the moment too. I have titled the video’s appropriately to describe the trip. I hope you enjoy the underlying story.

This first video I recorded shortly after arriving in Leyte and meeting Gina, I started recording the second day I arrived and captured some of the silly and intimate moments we had, like people have when they first meet for the first time. This was different because we already knew each other from chatting online for over 4 months but now we got to see each other in person. We were at Kilim Beach in the town of Baybay on the Island of Leyte. We were just walking on the beach together and with little to say we just enjoyed being together.

While I was in Mahaplag with Gina, there was a brown-out (a daily problem in the Philippines) and we visited with her family and walked around the town and she introduced me to a few of her friends.

My adventure found me in the Philippines and particularly in Mahaplag, Leyte on my birthday September 28th which is the same day the town of Mahaplag celebrates the Festival of St. Michael with a parade. It was like the town all came out to celebrate my birthday.

The beautiful and scenic 1 hour trip from Mahaplag to Baybay with a stop along the way at Mingay’s BBQ, Pantalan in Baybay.

Our Wedding Day in Baybay, Leyte. We were married 2 times, our legal marriage & our Christian marriage. September 29th, 2007. It was nice that day because a storm came thru and pushed the humidity away that morning. It was really nice and the food was awesome, Pig skin tastes awesome with a San Mig Light.

All the still pctures of my first trip the the Philippines, including the wedding. This wedding took place in Baybay, Leyte, Philippines

It was a beautiful & cool morning in Kilim, their was a heavy rain storm the night before and it blew out the humidity during the night so this day had a nice cool breeze. Thanks to Jack & Jurame for inviting us to join their family at the Vista Beach Resort. The food was so good. I believe we can all live a little longer if we make time to laugh, to love and share what we have with others! I need to have a few more days like this! Forget the worries & cares of the day and think about others!

My 5th visit to the Philippines, Gina and I travel around a bit to see family and visit her grandmother in Mahaplag Cemetery. This is the first time I get to drive with Gina alone on her brothers brand new Sunriser. It just so happens I am on Leyte during Independence Day.

The Spanish-American War began in Cuba in 1898, and reached the Philippines after the United States Army fought the Spanish Army during the Battle of Manila Bay. The country declared independence from Spain on June 12, 1898, and the following year, the Primera Rep├║blica Filipina or the First Philippine Republic were established in Malolos, Bulacan. Spain ceded the islands, together with Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Guam to the United States for $20 million dollars, during the Treaty of Paris held in France. More on the: Philippine Independence Day

I recently filmed my friend getting married to my wife’s sister at the Coral Beach Resort in Baybay, Leyte on October 2nd, 2013.
